Ray Prestegard , Has performed and entertained most his adult life , playing many styles
and working
in bands such as the Coal Creek Boys ( bluegrass ) out of cowlitz county, and Southern
Wind (country) . Playing acoustical instruments , such as an 80 year old banjo, mandolin
and a 30 year old guitar he bought new has captivated audiences at fairs and festivals
thru the northwest . Entertaining on stage , recording music in his studio and writing
songs with his vintage collection of instruments is a passion . He has recorded with
Danny Barnes, ( banjo & guitar ). Matt Sercely ( mandolin ). and has performed for the
Dawg, David grissman @ private party, Ray has two albums, Nevermore & Waters of the
sound with one in progress .
Community is very important to Ray , he has lived in intentional communities for years
in Oregon ,
and feels it is the way for people to evolve and live compassionately together .
For the most important project of his life, He now resides in Washington State on
a piece of property thats has been in his family for over 80 years and is building a home
and community .
